 About Me 

Hello, I’m Jess—an internal communications architect, culture builder, and founder of Jess Overbeck Consulting. After two decades leading internal comms and employee engagement for companies like Meta, Microsoft, Cisco, Amazon's Zoox, and Guardant Health, I launched my own consultancy to do more of what I love: helping growing organizations build internal communications that connect and inspire.

My sweet spot? I work with executives and in-house communications teams who care deeply about their people but need help cutting through the noise and building a foundation for growth, scale, and clarity. From exec messaging to town halls, culture campaigns to crisis moments. I help companies communicate with their people in ways that feel real, thoughtful, and aligned. Let's work together to shape strategic communications that turn values into action, vision into alignment, and change into momentum.

Why consulting? Because I saw an opportunity to do things differently—to elevate internal communications from a tactical task to a strategic advantage. I launched my consultancy to help more organizations build clear, connected communications.

I’m not just about words—I’m about impact. I build the infrastructure, strategy, and systems that help internal communications grow with the business, build trust, drive performance, and ensure employees feel connected, informed, and inspired.

Outside of work, you’ll find me underwater. Yes, really! I spend my evenings and weekends working as a PADI Scuba Instructor teaching in the Bay Area and Monterey. ​Topside, I am a California (and Bay Area) native who thrives on great conversations, good books, hot mugs of tea, snow-covered ski slopes, sunny weekends in wine country, and hikes with ocean views. I live on the Pacific coast with my husband and our two spoiled cats. My passion is doing great work with great people and living a life that leaves room for both purpose and joy.
